Xbox Canada Holiday Event

Xbox Canada is sending a Holiday Team to local retailers across the Great White North to show off what the Xbox 360 has to offer, aside from being available. The Holiday Team will be there for about 5 hours, starting either from 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM, or 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM, depending on the location. So, if anyone is looking to drop some hints as to what you want for the holidays, you can always "accidentally" show up with the prospective gift bearer in tow. KD Enterprises will be stopping by to check it out and give details on their marketing strategy, that's hopefully less futile than the competition's. Any other Canuck Fanboys going to check these out?

Chingy Revs up for Game with Fame

Tonight's Game with Fame is with rapper Chingy on Project Gotham Racing 3. From 4:00 PM EST to 5:00 PM EST, keep your eyes peeled for the gamertag "ChingyGWF", and you may get to race against the man responsible for Hot Rap Tracks #1 singles "One Call Way" and "Holding Me Back".

You'll need a Gold Live subscription to play multiplayer, and PGR3 of course, and you should be all set to put the pedal to the medal and grab yourself some Kudos on the track with Ching-a-Ling. Our only concern is that his warm up game, while a racer, may not help him harness the F50 GT. None the less, he showed how he was looking forward to the competition, saying that "getting loose on Xbox Live allows me to show my appreciation for where I come from, and who supports me. It lets me show the world how I not only dominate the rap game but the virtual court too."

All I can think of is: w00t!

I just got an email from Mr. "Anonymous Microsoft Employee" from Shadowrun Playtest event, and he just confirmed I was, as promised in the first round of the Shadowrun Beta. I'd like to thank Tony Hynes for offering the chance to play this amazing game last month, as well as FASA Studios for being such a cool development team and hosting the playtest, and of course, Mr. AME for giving those of us there the chance to get to help out making this game as good as it can be.

So, yeah.
w00t!

And other times, it's just downright weird

Honestly, I don't know what to say to that, or if I should actually accept it yet.
Jester and I came across him while playing some Gears last night, and he was definitely unique.
I think I'm going to leave that one pending for a while.

Update: By the way, his motto is "dawsonnucklesiscokles", which I guess brings into question the availability of superior technology. You may notice that the motto is cut off at xbox.com if it's a long word with no spaces, well, you can select all the text and copy it over to a text field that can display it. I suppose the guys at xbox.com should get on widening the table so that these important morsels of wisdom can be visible to all those who peruse various gamercards.

Sometimes it's the little things.

Ocassionally I get random messages and random friend requests. At this point I have no idea why, but I also, when I see someone cool on a forum, will do the same. Take Segaman72. I sent him a friend request within the last 18 hours or something, and he replied with this (after accepting, of course):

"Wow! The famous Knuckles Dawson wants to be my friend?!!? Cool! I heard u on Major Nelson's podcast. Congrats on you're streak man! Awesome...and u're a Canuck...sweet! Send me a game invite sometime."

Sure, it "boosts" my "inflated ego", which in all honesty is more of an act, for the sake of humor. But, it still feels nice to get that for just sending a friend request out.

SWOT Analysis

As a thank you to the growing number of members of KnucklesDawson.com, I have devised a little contest.  Essentially, my boss,  "Mr. Gears of War", also known as Knuckles Dawson, is having some difficulty in deciphering the exact meaning of a particular acronym.  The acronym is question is SWOT.  In exchange for your help, Knuckles is offering a prize from the KDE, or Knuckles Dawson Endowments.  Also, anyone who can decrypt this enigma may be thrust into the limelight, and become a full-time staff member for KnucklesDawson.com.

Contest Rules:

Your entry must be posted in the Expressionists forums, SWOT Contest thread, to be considered.

Only the first two entries per member will be counted.

Good luck, we hope to find a winner very soon.

New Podcast Episode.

Not my podcast, but the blokes over at 360 Arcadians had me as a guest host for their show. I talk about my streak, and primarily about my stay at FASA Studios and playtest for Shadowrun. So, if you want my take on the whole experience, give it a listen. Keep in mind, this is a spin off from Penny Arcade's Xbox 360 community, so the language from everyone, myself included is more colourful than that found on my site or podcast. Still, despite my moderate mic improvement, still not up to snuff for personal preference on how mine should sound.
